Thousands of People Throng at Awami League Rally

Thousands of people thronged at a rally organized by the ruling Awami League, holding at the Engineers Institution in the capital’s Ramna on Wednesday (August 17), in protest of country-wide series bomb attack during BNP-Jamaat tenure. The rally launched at 4:00pm.

Thousands of leaders, activists and supporters attended the rally with banner and festoons in processions. 

The Awami League leaders said this program is being held to protest against the incitement of the anti-national evil power BNP and its followers to create terror and anarchy through false propaganda and rumours.

Awami League General Secretary, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has given organizational instructions to all leaders and workers at district, metropolitan, upazila, thana, municipal and union levels to hold the program.

Mentionable, on August 17, 2005, during the BNP-Jamaat coalition government, a series of bomb attacks were carried out in more than five hundred places across the country. Since then, Awami League has been observing the day in protest of the series bombings.
