Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has commented that both BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and the party's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman are ineligible to be candidates in the elections.

He said this during a press briefing at his residence on Thursday (September 15) morning.

Urging BNP to participate in the next parliamentary elections, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said, Awami League never wants to score goals in an empty field, Awami League wants competitive elections.

He complained that BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia was sentenced for corruption, and Mirza Fakhrul, whose leadership claimed that BNP is well-organized, Tarique Rahman is the a corrupt and convicted fugitive.

General Secretary of Awami League asked, "How can a fugitive and a fugitive accused who fled the country on the condition of not doing politics become the leader of BNP?"

In response to the statement of 'Awami League is a Terrorist Party'-BNP Secretary General, he said that it is not Awami League, but actually BNP is a recognized terrorist party at home and abroad. Canadian court has also identified BNP as a terrorist group.

Obaidul Quader claimed that Awami League is an organization of soil and people and the address of people's trust. The position of Sheikh Hasina government and Awami League is very strict against terrorism and communal evil.
