Dr Hasan Mahmud, the minister of information, claimed that the BNP has no shame after being labeled a terrorist group by the Canadian federal court five times in a row.
“This time, the Canadian court said that BNP is trying to overthrow the democratically elected government,” he told journalists while visiting the sub-centre of Bangladesh Television in Rangpur city around 11:30am on Tuesday.
Most recently, on June 15, the court judge labeled BNP as a terrorist group when resolving a judicial review application.
The information minister stated that it was proper protocol for the prime minister to give fruits to BNP's Dhaka Metropolitan North chairman Aman Ullah Aman and meals to DB head to give to BNP Standing Committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy.
“The people of Bangladesh have also seen how Awami League senior leaders Matia Chowdhury and Md Nasim were beaten on the streets when BNP was in power,” he mentioned.
The minister also said: “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is coming to Rangpur tomorrow (Wednesday). Although the rally will be held in the district school ground, this rally will spread over 10 kilometres of Rangpur city. This grand gathering of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will create history in Bangladesh.”
