Revolutionary Student Unity Calls To Dissolve Anti-Discrimination Platform

The Revolutionary Student Unity has called for the dissolution of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement platform. On Friday, September 27, the organization's president, Dilip Roy, and general secretary, Jabi Ahmed Jubel, made this demand in a joint statement.

They argued that it is unreasonable to continue this platform, which was formed around the quota reform movement, stating, “Currently, this platform has become an authoritarian space. What is happening under its name across the country is fundamentally undermining the aspirations of the mass uprising.”

They further stated, "At this point, the platform has taken on the role of a government-affiliated student organization. Its coordinator has called students to confront Ansars, leading to clashes—actions reminiscent of previous student leaders from the ruling party. We have also seen coordinators exerting such authority that they are making university vice-chancellors take oaths. Reports indicate that these coordinators have intervened in various administrative decisions at universities under the guise of coordination. Furthermore, they have supported gang killings and roamed the country under state protocol to implement their own political mandates."

The leaders urged for the platform's dissolution, appealing to the public: "What is happening across the country is alarming. It clearly shows that a segment of the state is conspiring against the mass uprising. Therefore, it is essential for people from all walks of life to play a significant role in the struggle for a democratic Bangladesh. We must continue to strengthen our efforts in the days ahead."
