Khaleda Zia Admitted To London Clinic

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has been admitted to a London clinic for advanced treatment. Party acting chairman Tarique Rahman himself drove his mother Khaleda Zia from Heathrow Airport to the London clinic.

The air ambulance carrying the BNP chairperson landed at London's Heathrow International Airport at 8:59 am local time (3pm Bangladesh Time) on Wednesday. Khaleda Zia then approached her son in a wheelchair and welcomed him with a hug.

UK BNP President MA Maleque and General Secretary Kaysar M Ahmed were present at the time. BNP leaders and activists welcomed Khaleda Zia to London at the airport and raised various slogans.

Shamsuddin Didar, an official at the BNP Chairperson's media wing, confirmed this information.

He said, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia was taken to the hospital from Heathrow Airport after arriving in London. She has been admitted to the 'London Clinic' for advanced treatment.

The BNP Chairperson last visited London in July 2017. She has not visited any other foreign countries since then. During this period, she has not met her son Tarique Rahman in person either.

Former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia left Dhaka on Tuesday night for the UK for better treatment in an air ambulance. The air ambulance sent by the Emir of Qatar took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:46 pm. Tarique Rahman met Khaleda Zia after 7 and a half years, after going through various ups and downs during this trip.
