Kalabagan Krira Chakra president detained

Kalabagan Krira Chakra President Safiqul Alam Firoz was arrested from the city’s Kalabagan area on Friday afternoon, reports UNB.

Aziz Uddin, a general member of the club, said Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) detained Firoz when he came out of the club for offering Jum'a prayers around 1 pm.

Rab personnel asked him some questions and took him away in a car. 

Firoz is a former member of Krishak League’s central committee. 

Meanwhile, Rab cordoned off the Krira Chakra since noon before raiding the place.

Rab said they are raiding the club on information that a casino was being operated illegally there.

On Wednesday, Rab arrested Jubo League leader Khalid Mahmud Bhuiyan from Gulshan for reportedly running an illegal casino.

On Friday, Jubo League’s central leader GK Shamim was arrested from Niketan with illegal firearms and a huge amount of money.
