AKM Salim Osman has been elected as president of Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) for the fifth consecutive term.
The BKMEA Election Board in a meeting at BKMEA head office in Dhaka on Thursday (Oct 3), announced Salim Osman elected unopposed for the 2019-2020 term.
A lawmaker from Narayanganj-5 constituency, Salim Osman was first elected as the president of BKMEA in 2010.
Other elected members of BKMEA board are First Vice-President MA Hatem, Second Vice-President Amal Poddar, Third Vice-President of Gauhar Siraj Jamil and Vice-President (finance) Morshed Sarwar Sohail.
All members of the 27-strong board of the country's apex knitwear exporter body were elected unopposed as no contestants are in the race against them.
