A case was filed against 900 to 1,000 unknown persons in connection with yesterday’s clash between police and religious zealots in Borhanuddin upazila of Bhola, which left four people killed.

The case was filed with Borhanuddin Police Station last night by its Sub-Inspector Azizur Rahman.

The police officials filed the lawsuit on charge of barring police from discharging their duties, attack on law enforcers and creating disorder.

The religious zealots clashed with police in Bhola’s Borhanuddin upazila over a hate conversation spread through Facebook and its messenger.

A tense situation is prevailing in Bhola town since this morning.

Meanwhile, local administration imposed a ban on any meetings and rallies in the entire district of Bhola for an indefinite period to avert further notice, our staff correspondent who are stationed in the area reports quoting Deputy Commissioner Mohammed Masud Alam Siddique.
