DLF-2019 Inaugural Ceremony in pictures

This year's Dhaka Lit Fest was inaugurated on Thursday, November 7, by the State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid at the historic Bangla Academy premises. He, alongside Dhaka Tribune Publisher and DLF Director Kazi Anis Ahmed and Sadaf Saaz, Bangla Academy Director General Habibullah Sirajee, DLF Co-director Ahsan Akbar, Bangladesh-born British author and Man Booker nominee Monica Ali and other literary figures, cut the ribbon to begin the eighth instalment of the Lit Fest.

The inauguration program begun with a performance by Shadhona, titled "Aye Amader Ongone". The production by Shadhona celebrates Nature’s ability to overcome obstacles and sustain the environment through the dynamic interaction of the five elements Earth, Water, Fire, Wind and Space. It is based on Tagore’s book of poems ‘Brikkhoropon’ which is performed at the yearly tree-planting ceremony every 22she Srabon in Santiniketan.
