4.67kg gold seized at Satkhira

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have seized 4.67 kilograms gold at Satkhira’s Bangladesh-India border adjoining area. 

The gold worth of Tk 28 million has been seized in the time of attempted smuggling from Kakdanga area of the district on Friday (Nov 22) morning, said BGB’s Kakdanga Border Out Post (BOP) Naib Subedar Oli.

According to BGB, two motorcycle riders have fled leaving their motorcycle along with the gold after seeing BGB surveillance troop. The recovered gold has been handed over to BGB 33 Battalion headquarters.

“Details on the recovered gold will be briefed to media later,” said Lt Colonel Golam Mohiuddin Khandokar, head of the battalion.
