Samsung to Build New Terminal of Dhaka Airport

Samsung Construction & Trading (C&T) Corporation, the construction unit of Samsung Group has won the project to build Terminal 3 of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

The new terminal will be constructed at an estimated cost of Tk 214 billion, of which Tk 50 billion will be funded by the Government, and the rest will be financed by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The project is expected to be completed by 2023, according to a press release issued today by Samsung.

Approximately 20 million passengers will be able to travel through the airport annually after the completion of Terminal 3, it says.

Samsung C&T Corporation earned a budget of Tk 50 billion (USD 1.6 billion) for the project.

It has developed a wide and varied portfolio of impressive construction achievements through the use of the most advanced techniques and technologies available.

Over the years, the company has successfully built globally known landmarks such as Burj Khalifa, Petronas Twin Towers, Taipei 101, and Changi Airport Terminal 4 in Singapore, among others.

It has become a multinational engineering and construction organization capable of building everything from skyscrapers to airports, medical facilities, odd structures and even state-of - the-art manufacturing facilities.

Samsung Electronics Bangladesh has been operating in the country for the past 10 years. Now they even assemble a range of Samsung smartphones at a hi-tech factory in Narsingdi for the local market and have a Research and Development center in Dhaka.
