HC Bans Two Books from Ekushey Book Fair

High Court has banned the publication and selling of two books, Nanir Bani by Diyarshi Arag and The Arefin for harming religious and personal freedom. Court has ordered Bangla Academy DG to remove the Ekushey Book Fair books.

At the same time the home secretary, DC’s of Narayanganj and Dhaka were asked to take necessary steps.

A High Court bench of justices M Enayetur Rahim and Mostafizur Rahman spontaneously gave the order today.

The offensive parts in the books had been highlighted at court by lawyer Azhar Ullah Bhuiyan.
