Constable Killed in Savar Road Crash

A police constable was killed early today at Ulail in Savar when a truck ran over him on Dhaka-Aricha highway.

The victim was identified as Akash Ahmed, 22, son of Abdul Malek of Ashulia. He was posted at Narayanganj District Police Lines.

The accident occurred around 2 am when a goods-laden truck hit a motorbike carrying Akash while heading to his Narayanganj office, leaving him dead on the spot, Savar Highway Police Station official Abdullah Hel Baki said.

A case was filed with Savar Model Police Station.

Police seized the truck but were unable to arrest the driver because he managed to flee.
