Govt Closes Archaeological Sites And Museums Until Apr 2

The government has closed archeological sites and museums to tourists until April 02 despite rising coronavirus fears.

According to media accounts, the closure decision was made in the hopes of preserving public safety, Md Hannan Mia, Director General of the Department of Archaeology, said in an order on Thursday.

Nevertheless, official operations will proceed as normal, he added.

Earlier on Wednesday, police in the city of Chattogram prohibited any meeting on the Patenga sea beach to avoid the danger of the fast-spreading virus.
