Navy Assists Coastal Area Administration

Members of the Bangladesh Navy has started working in the coastal areas to assist the civil administration in implementing government directives to prevent the outbreak of the coronavirus in the country.

Eight contingents, each consisting of 186 members, including 17 officers from Khulna Naval area, have reached coastal Upazilas, including Barguna Sadar, Amtali, Betagi, Bamna, Patharghata and Taltali Upazilas.

On the other hand, seven more contingent comprising 144 naval members, including 16 officers from Chittagong Naval area, started work at Bhola Sadar, Borhan Uddin, Daulatkhan, Char Fashion, Manpura, Lalmohan, Tajumuddin, Sandeep, Hatia, Teknaf, Kotobdia and Kothavaria areas.

Members of the Bangladesh Navy are assisting the local administration to ensure maintaining social distancing in coastal areas, provide treatment to virus-infected patients in remote areas, and ensuring quarantine of returnees.
