Mild Heat Wave Sweeps over Bangladesh

Bangladesh Meteorological Department today predicted that the ongoing mild heatwave would continue while the weather would remain dry with the temporary partly cloudy sky over the country in the next 24 hours.

''Mild heat wave is sweeping over the regions of Dhaka, Faridpur, Gopalgonj, Pabna, Khulna, Chuadanga, Bagerhat, Barishal, Patuakhali, Bhola, Rangamati and Sylhet, and it may continue,'' said a Met Office bulletin issued this morning.

Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country, the bulletin said.

The highest temperature on Friday was recorded 37.5 degrees Celsius in Faridpur of Dhaka Division while today’s minimum temperature was 18.4 degrees Celsius in Srimangal of the Sylhet Division.

The sun sets at 6.13 pm today and rises at 5.53 am tomorrow in the capital.
