Ctg Police Taking Daily Essentials to People’s Doorsteps

All 16 police stations under Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) have begun services — bringing the everyday necessities to port city citizens 'doorsteps who have been told to keep home to avoid coronavirus spreading.

Mohammad Mohsin, Chattogram Kotwali Police Station's officer-in-charge, launched the service in his region yesterday to support the people in this time of crisis.

CMP Commissioner Mahbubur Rahman has ordered all police stations to launch the service for their respective areas after receiving an unprecedented response.

Speaking to the media, deputy commissioner Bijoy Boshak (CMP-North) said four police stations under his district were beginning the door-to-door service today after obtaining guidance from the commissioner.

People must pay out of the retail shops upon collecting receipts.

A video that went viral yesterday showed OC Mohammad Mohsin utilizing a loudspeaker, making an announcement: "Stay home. The store can hit you. You don't have to go shopping. CMP has launched this virtual store for those who sit home.

"Stay home. Stay healthy," He said.

He also told citizens if they wanted anything to contact the hotline number-01400400400 —. People have been told to contact 619922 at Kotwali Police Station.
