DMP to Distribute Food among 2,500 Destitute People Daily

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) will distribute food to 2,500 homeless children and needy people everyday to alleviate the suffering of the destitute people in the city in this tough time.

"After March 29, we would distribute food to 2,500 destitute citizens in the areas under 50 police stations in the city," a press release quoted DMP commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam on Saturday as saying.

The DMP chief said the food will be distributed till the end of the ongoing general holidays on April 4.

Meanwhile, as with previous times, DMP managed to spray antibacterial substances by water cannons in its city's eight different crime units.

The first period of city road disinfecting took place between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., while the second process will start between 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., another press release stated.

DMP launched the program on March 25 and will continue until further order in this regard.
