Italy Coronavirus Deaths Rise by 889 in a Day to 10,023

The death toll from a coronavirus outbreak in Italy has increased by 889, said the Civil Protection Agency on Saturday, the second-highest average count since the disease began on 21 Feb.

In Italy, overall deaths reached 10,023, by far the most of any country in the world. 

The highest daily toll in Italy was registered on Friday when 919 people died. According to this, on Thursday there were 712 suicides, on Wednesday 683, on Tuesday 743, and on Monday 602.

The overall number of confirmed cases in Italy increased from a previous 86,498 on Saturday, to 92,472.

Italy has the second-highest number of incidents, barely below the USA. On Friday, it outpaced China's count.

In Italy, 12,384 of those initially affected nationally had completely healed on Saturday, compared with 10,950 the previous day. Intensive treatment was received by 3,856 individuals over a prior 3,732.
