The Government has decided to extend the suspension of public transport services until April 25, in consideration of the continuing coronavirus situation in the country.

On Saturday, the Roads and Highways Division issued a press release in this regard.

However, trucks and covered vans carrying milk, drugs, medical care, gasoline, and perishable goods are excluded from travel bans.

Transport of relief products along with mainstream media will also stay out of the control of the travel ban.

In addition to educational institutions, rail, road, river and air connections have been shut down to avoid the transmission of the extremely infectious virus.

On 26 March, Bangladesh placed a travel ban on all modes of transport – train, road, air and waterways, except for emergencies – throughout the country to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
