Rajshahi Goes Under Lockdown As 2 People Test Positive for Coronavirus

The district administration put Rajshahi under lockdown on Tuesday to prevent coronavirus spread.

Deputy Commissioner Md Hamidul Haque has today issued a public notice in this regard.

As per the order, before further notice, public entry and exit will be prohibited in the area.

All forms of public transport and movement of residents must still stay suspended.

Note that stringent measures would be taken if someone breaks the terms of the lockout.

All emergency services will stay beyond the control of the ban, said the note.

The restriction came into effect at 10:00 a.m.

Earlier, the district confirmed two coronavirus cases.

Bangladesh on Monday recorded the highest number of coronavirus cases in one day as 182 more people tested positive, raising the total number to 803.

Besides, five more people died from coronavirus during the period raising the death toll to 39.

A number of districts and areas across the country have been put under lockdown by the local administration to contain the spread of coronavirus.
