SBMCH’s Medicine Ward Locked Down

The Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMCH) authorities have placed their medicine unit under lockdown after a patient undergoing care in the COVID-19 check unit has been positive.

Confirming the news, hospital director Dr. Bakir Hossain said on Thursday night they locked the unit down.

Twenty-four medical unit-3 (male) doctors and nurses who came into touch with the patient were also told to go into quarantine in their house, he said.

A 70-year-old man who hailed from Babuganj Upazila found positive for COVID-19 earlier on Thursday night.

He was admitted into the medicine ward of the hospital on April 13.
