Information Minister Hasan Mahmud expressed deep shock at the death of Bhorer Kagoj crime reporter Aslam Rahman.
He prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved members of the family.
Aslam Rahman, 42, breathed his last at a hospital in the city on Thursday night.
He had been suffering from fever and respiratory problems, family said.
However, Kamruzzaman Khan, senior reporter for Bhorer Kagoj, said Aslam's coronavirus test report was negative on Wednesday.
