Narendra Modi Phones PM Sheikh Hasina to Greet Her on Eid

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday phoned his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina and greeted her on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of the Muslims.

Prime Minister’s press secretary Ihsanul Karim confirmed the matter saying that Bangladesh premier also conveyed Eid greetings to the Prime Minister of India on behalf of the people of the country.

“The Indian premier phoned the Bangladesh prime minister at about 5:45 pm and extended Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to her (Sheikh Hasina) and the people of Bangladesh,” said PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim.

During a five-minute telephone conversation, he said, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh also extended his greetings to Narendra Modi and the people of India.

The Prime Minister of Bangladesh wished the peace, progress, and prosperity of the people of India.

Narendra Modi also wished for the continued peace, progress and development of the people of Bangladesh, the press secretary said.
