Sahara Khatun's Condition Slightly Improves

The health condition of former home minister Advocate Sahara Khatun has slightly improved but he is still in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the United Hospital in the capital.

The 77-year-old politician was moved to the ICU on Friday morning as her condition deteriorated.

Sahara Khatun's nephew Mojibur Rahman confirmed the matter to media.

Earlier on June 2, the Awami League presidium member was admitted to the hospital with fever, allergy and other old-age complications.

Sahara has been elected to parliament from Dhaka-18 constituency for the last three terms consecutively.

She took charge as a home minister when the Awami League returned to power in 2008. She was later transferred to the post and telecommunication ministry.
