Red Zones Imposed in 3 More Districts with General Holidays

On Tuesday, the government declared general holidays for the red zones of three more districts, citing the high possibility of coronavirus infection.

To this respect, the Ministry of Public Administration issued a notice of the gazette.

The fresh districts with general holidays are – Cox's Bazar, Magura and Khulna. In addition, another union of the Habiganj district was put under the purview of the holidays.

Throughout the red areas of the districts of Khulna, Magura and Habiganj, holidays will take effect from 24 June (Wednesday) to 11 July, while the holiday period throughout Khulna is effective from 26 June to 16 July.

All job-holders residing in the red zones of the districts will enjoy the holidays. Besides, all government and private offices falling under the areas will remain closed during the period, said the notification.

However, all emergency services will be out of the purview of the holidays.

The health authorities separated the country into three zones, namely red, yellow and green.

The areas with high infection rates were marked as red zones.

Earlier, red zones in ten districts were imposed with general holidays.
