The air quality in Dhaka reported a significant improvement on Friday morning, with the capital city ranked 64th in the Air Quality Index ( AQI).

It had an AQI score of 35 at 09:07 and its air quality was classified as 'satisfactory.'

When the AQI value is between 0 and 50, the air quality is satisfactory and there is little or no risk of air pollution.

Indonesia's Jakarta, India's Delhi and Iran's Tehran had the top three spots on the list of cities with AQI ratings of 168, 157 and 151, respectively.

AQI, a database for the measurement of everyday air quality, shows citizens how healthy or unhealthy the environment in a given area is and what health consequences might be of interest to them.

In Bangladesh, the AQI is focused on five pollutant parameters – Particulate Matter (PM10 and PM2.5), NO2, CO , SO2 and Ozone (O3).

The air of Dhaka stays largely appropriate during the monsoon from June to October.
