WHO to Research How the Virus Started in China

The World Health Organization is sending a group to China to more likely see how the novel coronavirus began, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said during a briefing on Monday. 

"Knowing the wellspring of the infection is important," Tedros said. "We can discover the infection better when we have a deep understanding of it, including how it began." 

"We will send a group one week from now to China to get ready for that," he said. 

Tedros said he trusts the visit will prompt "seeing how the infection began and what we can accomplish for the future to get ready." 

Tedros said the group will make a beeline for China one week from now.
