Chittagong University Goes Under Lockdown

The authorities of Chittagong University (CU) has put the campus under lockdown for 14 days from today’s morning to curb spread of coronavirus. 

University’s Acting Registrar Professor S M Monirul Hasan confirmed the issue.

He said the university will remain lockdown from July 4 to July 17. The administrative activities of CU will operate from the office of the Fine Arts Institute in the city during the lockdown.

CU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Shirin Akhter took the decision at an emergency meeting with the syndicate members, he added.

To be noted, Deputy Registrar Mohammad Jahangir tested positive for coronavirus in the last week. Besides, two coronavirus patients were detected at Shobha Colony adjacent to CU 2 No gate.
