Regent Group Chief's Bank Accounts Frozen

Bangladesh Bank has frozen the bank accounts of Regent Group Chairman Mohammad Shahed, who is accused in a case filed for issuing fake COVID-19 test reports and charging patients for the tests.

The central bank also ordered the authorities concerned to freeze the accounts related to his names and organizations.

Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) of Bangladesh Bank issued letters to all banks on Thursday in this regard.

Sources at the BFIU confirmed this information, says a media report.

According to the letter, all the bank accounts in the name of Sahed and his organizations will be frozen for the next 30 days.
