Andrew Kishore’s Funeral on Wednesday

Renowned singer Andrew Kishore, who breathed his last on July 6th, will be buried in Rajshahi with his last wish on Wednesday when his two children returned home from Australia.

The body is now housed in the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital mortuary and will be buried in the Christian cemetery in the Sreerampur area of Rajshahi beside his parents' after completing the rites in the City Church.

His son, Jay Andrew Saptok, returned home on July 8 while his daughter, Minim Andrew Songa, returned on Monday.

Eminent playback singer Andrew Kishore, who had been battling cancer for months, died at 6:55 p.m. in his hometown of Rajshahi on July 6.

The eight-time National Film Award-winning singer returned home on a special flight on 11 June after a nine-month stay in Singapore. He's been staying in Rajshahi since then.

Andrew is survived by his wife Lipika Andrew Eti, Minim Andrew Songa's daughter, Jay Andrew Saptok 's son, along with millions of fans who will miss him dearly.

He had rendered more than 15,000 songs in movies, earning him the moniker of ‘playback king’ in the Bangla film industry.
