CU VC’s Husband Latiful Dies of Covid-19

Major (retd) Latiful Alam Chowdhury, husband of Chattogram University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shirin Akhter, died early Wednesday of Covid-19 at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Chattogram.

Latiful Alam, also a freedom fighter, breathed his last at about 1:30 am at the hospital's ICU, according to family members, reports UNB.

His first namaz-e-janaza will be conducted at 11 a.m. Chattogram Cantonment, while the second in Garibullah Shah City after Zohar's prayers.

Latiful Alam, including his wife Prof. Dr. Shirin Akhter and six family members, were found infected with coronavirus on July 12.

Since then, he had been undergoing treatment at the CMH.

In the meantime, all other affected family members, including VC Shirin Akhter, have completely healed from the disease.
