College Teacher among 2 Killed in Cox’s Bazar Road Crash

Two people, including a professor, were killed and another wounded after a mini-truck struck them in Cox's Bazaar's Ramu Upazila on Wednesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Shafiul Alam, 55, head of the Department of Physics at Cox's Bazar Government College, son of late Chand Mia Saudagar, hailing from Joarianala Ghonarpara Upazila and Mahbub Morshed Amin, 56, member of the Steering Committee of Joarianala Girls High School, son of late Nur Ahmed Sikder, hailing from Sikdar Para in the same Upazila.

The injured are identified as Borhan Uddin, a teacher at Joarianala H M Sanchi High School. He is now undergoing treatment at Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital.

Confirming the news, Abul Khayer, Ramu Upazila's Officer-in-charge (OC) said that the speedy mini truck struck them when they were walking along the road at 6:00 a.m. in the area, leaving two dead on the spot and another injured.
