Stern Action Against Corruption during Pandemic

Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim issued a note of warning saying that nobody will be spared if involved in any kind of corruption or irregularities during the coronavirus pandemic.

''No irregularities in implementing projects will be tolerated in any way…If officials of the ministry find any irregularities in the field inspection, they will have to prepare a complete report and bring up the overall picture,'' a press release quoted the minister saying that.

He was exchanging views with the officials and employees of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock at the Secretariat after Eid-ul-Azha.

The minister also said compensating for the loss during pandemic and flood, the pace of work must be increased.

Mentioning that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has invigorated the whole nation during the Corona period, the Minister said to the officials, ''Field level officers and employees have worked sincerely amid the Coronavirus situation. This inspiring trend must be continued,'' said the release.

Fisheries and Livestock Secretary Raunak Mahmud, Additional Secretary Kazi Washi Uddin, Subol Bose Moni, Shyamal Chandra Karmakar and other officials and employees of the ministry, among others, were present at the meeting.
