Maritime Ports Asked to Hoist Signal 3

Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal No 3, said Met office on Tuesday.

All fishing boats and trawlers were asked to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.

Squally weather may hit the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh, said the Met office bulletin.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely at most places over Rangpur division and at many places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.

Met office also predicted rain at a few places over Rajshahi and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country.

Day temperature may remain nearly unchanged and night temperature may fall slightly over the country.

The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajsthan, Hariyana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and strong over North Bay.

Maximum temperature was recorded 36.0 degrees Celsius at Tangail and lowest temperature today 24.3C at Tetulia on Monday.

The sun will rise at 05:33am on Wednesday and sunset will be at 06:34 pm on Thursday in the capital.
