Bangladesh has established diplomatic ties with West Indian island country Saint Kitts and Nevis.
Bangladesh Ambassador to the United States Mohammad Ziauddin and Saint Kitts and Nevis Ambassador to the United States Thelma Phillip Browne inked a joint statement on behalf of their respective countries at the Embassy of Bangladesh in Washington, D.C. A Press Release received today on Monday.
Saint Kitts and Nevis is an active member of the United Nations, the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), the Organization of American States (OAS), the Organization of East Caribbean States (OECS), and other diplomatic organizations and multilateral forums, reports BSS.
With the establishment of diplomatic relations, Bangladesh will expect help from Saint Kitts and Nevis on various critical issues in regional and multilateral fora, as well as provide impetus to Bangladesh's efforts to attract help to the foreign organizations and forums in various elections.
Besides, it would pave the way for unveiling a new vista of bilateral trade and tourism between the two countries, said the release.
