Malaysia has imposed restrictions on the entry of citizens from 12 countries, including Bangladesh, said Minister of Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam on Saturday.

The nine countries that have been under the restricted are Bangladesh, the United States, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Spain, France, Italy, Saudi Arabia and Russia, he said, reports UNB.

Malaysia earlier imposed restrictions on the entry of citizens from the Philippines, Indonesia and India, Alam said.

In a post shared on his Facebook page on Saturday, the Minister of State said that Bangladesh will continue to discuss the issue with Malaysia and will inform all if the decision is changed.

Migrants who came on vacation to Bangladesh will now have to wait until 31 December, he said.

The Minister of State warned to be blacklisted if anyone wanted to go to the country this time with the help of brokers.
