India Records Highest Coronavirus Deaths in More Than a Month

India recorded its highest daily coronavirus deaths on Tuesday in more than a month, even as new infections slowed down, health ministry data showed, Reuters reports.

In the last 24 hours, the health ministry said 1,133 people had died from COVID-19, the highest since July, taking overall mortality to 72,775. Yet new regular cases were the lowest in a week, at 75,809.

On Monday, India surpassed Brazil to become the country with the most cases of coronavirus outside the United States and has a total caseload of 4.28 million.
