Road Accident Kills 6 in Barishal

At least six people were killed in a collision between an ambulance and a covered van on Barishal-Dhaka highway in Barishal’s Uzirpur Upazila.

The incident took place in Atipara area of the upazila at 5:00pm on Wednesday.

All the victims were ambulance passengers, said officer-in-charge (OC) of the Uzirpur Police Station Ziaul Ahsan.

The victims, however, are not identified immediately but two of them are women.

On information, police rushed to the spot, recovered the bodies and sent them to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital for autopsy, police said.
