COVID-19 Claims 34 More Lives

Bangladesh reported 34 new deaths due to the coronavirus infection in a daily count, taking the total number of deaths to 4,702.

Another 1,282 patients were detected in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of infections to 336,044.

A press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) made the disclosure on Saturday afternoon.

Health authorities reported another 2,247 people to have recovered from the disease in a day, rising the total number of recoveries to 238,271.

In the last 24 hours, 93 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country tested 10,723 samples.

Of the total sample tests, 11.96 percent tested positive in the past 24 hours, while 19.59 percent cases were detected from the total tests conducted so far, the release added.

Among the total infections, 70.90 percent of patients have recovered, while 1.40 percent died so far since the first COVID-19 positive cases were reported in the country on March 8.
