Selina Hossain Wins Muktadhara Literary Award in New York

Eminent Bangladeshi writer Selina Hossain has been nominated for the Muktadhara / GFB Literary Award for her outstanding contribution to Bengali literature.

The award will be formally awarded to her on the last day of the New York Bangla Book Fair on September 27.

The decision to grant the award to Selina Hossain was taken unanimously at the Muktadhara Nirbahi Parishad meeting in New York.

Besides, the 10-day 'New York Bangla Book Fair' started on September 18 at the initiative of the Muktadhara Foundation.

Earlier, the following individuals have so far been honored with this unique recognition:

2016 – Nirmalendu Goon, Poet

2017 – Shamsuzzaman Khan, Writer, Folklore Expert

2018 – Abdullah Abu Sayeed, Writer, Educationist and Chairman, Bishwa Shahitya Kendra

2019 – Dilara Hashem, Novelist
