4 Members of a Family Killed in Dinajpur Mud-Wall Collapse

Four members of a family, including two children, were killed early Sunday in Jhaupara in Parbatipur Upazila, Dinajpur district, as part of the mud-wall of their house collapsed on them, reports UNB.

The victims were identified as Swapan, 30, Farzana, 25, his wife, and the village's two children, Hossain, 7, and Hasibur, 5.

Mokhlesur Rahman, the officer in charge of the Parbatipur Police Station, said that four of the family members were killed some time during the night when the house partly collapsed on them in their sleep.

Local people said the mudslide occurred for the last few days due to incessant rains as mud walls are very weak in shear, stress and compression.
