Abdur Razzak, Chairman of JMI Hospital Requisite Manufacturing Ltd, has been arrested in a case filed over the government's supply of poor quality masks, personal protective equipment (PPE) and other medical equipment.
On Tuesday, following the filing of a lawsuit, an Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) team arrested Razzak from the capital, ACC Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said.
The anti-graft body questioned Razzaq earlier on July 8 for about six hours to gather more information about the issue.
The ACC summoned Razzak to appear before it for interrogation over the allegations on July 1.
