COVID-19: Bangladesh Reports 31 More Deaths

Thirty-one people have died from coronavirus or Covid-19 in Bangladesh over the last 24 hours, said a press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Monday.

The number of deaths from COVID-19 now stands at 5,555 while the death rate is 1.46 percent.

A total of 1,472 new infections were registered in the meantime, raising the number of total infection is 3,79,738, the release added.

Bangladesh is currently 16th in the list of worst-affected countries in the world in terms of the number of cases.

According to worldometers.info, the position is one step behind Iraq and one step ahead of Italy.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 13,227 samples were tested across the country.

Meanwhile, 1,531 corona patients have recovered in the last 24 hours.

The total number of recovery cases is 2,94,391 while the recovery rate is  77.52 percent.

Among 31 deaths, 19 were men and 12 women while one was 0-10 years old, one was between 21-30, three within 31-40, two between 41-50, seven between 51-60, and 17 were above 60 years old, the release added.
