Global Coronavirus Death Toll Tops 1.1 Million

According to official AFP reports, the overall number of confirmed deaths from the latest coronavirus reached 1.1 million worldwide on Friday at 1500 GMT.

At least 1,100,056 deaths have been recorded, out of 38,997,267 cases. The United States, the hardest-hit nation with 217,798 deaths from 7,985,356 infections, was almost one in five deaths, reports BSS.

Brazil is followed by the United States with 152,460 deaths out of 5,169,386 cases, India with 112,161 deaths out of 7,370,468 cases, Mexico with 85,285 deaths out of 834,910 cases, and the United Kingdom with 43,293 deaths out of 673,622 infections recorded.
