Biman Cancels Flights amid Saudi Arabia's Fresh COVID-19 Restrictions

As one-week flight restriction has been imposed by Saudi Arabia amid Covid-19 pandemic, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has cancelled its all flights to Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam from today.  

The flights of the national flag carrier have been cancelled for one week, according to a Biman press release on Monday.

Passengers of cancelled flights will be allotted seats on priority basis subject to seat vacancy after resumption of flight, reads the release.

The restrictions imposed by the Saudi Government in response to the outbreak of a potent new strain of the virus in the United Kingdom and other European countries have been implemented.

Saudi Arabia has suspended all international commercial flights for a renewable week late on Sunday, with the exception of foreign flights already in the Kingdom that will be permitted to depart, state news agency SPA announced citing the source of the Ministry of the Interior.

The source added that entry into the kingdom through land and sea ports will also be suspended for a renewable week.
