CMP Constable Dies of COVID-19

On Friday morning, a Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) police constable died of coronavirus or COVID-19 infection at a hospital in the port city.

Jahir Uddin, 45, from Laxmipur, had his last breath while receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Chattogram General Hospital, reports media.

Abdul Warish, deputy commissioner of the CMP special branch, said that on December 6, Jahir was tested positive for the virus and admitted to the police hospital isolation unit.

As his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Chittagong General Hospital this morning.

Jahir joined the Bangladesh Police in 1996.

With him, a total of 6 members of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) died from Covid-19 infection so far.
