Global COVID-19 Death Toll Reaches 1,911,586

According to the Centre for System Science and Engineering of Johns Hopkins University, global deaths from the novel coronavirus infection reached 1,911,586 as of Saturday morning.

In addition, around the world, 88,782,137 Covid-19 cases have been reported.

Although new infection cases continue to rise among the world's infected population at present, most of them are in mild condition.

Among the currently 23,419,116 infected patients 23,310,227 are in mild condition, which is 99.5 per cent, Worldometer records in its daily updates.

On the other hand, 108,889 of the currently infected patients are in serious condition, and their percentage is only 0.5.

So far, 49,366,572 people have recovered.

In Bangladesh, 16 more Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours as of Friday, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 7,734.

Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 5,20,690 as 785 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours.
