Passengers coming from London of the United Kingdom (UK) to Bangladesh will have to stay in seven-day quarantine.

Md Mokabbir Hossain, Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, said the decision of the government will implement immediately.

The decision of 14-day institutional quarantine was taken on December 28, last year for the passengers coming from the UK to Bangladesh, so that new strain of coronavirus does not spread in the country.

Cabinet secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam, at a press conference on that day, said, ''The flight will remain operational. But all UK returnees will stay in a 14-day quarantine. The passengers will be kept at Ashkona Hajj Camp and Diabari of Uttara in the capital for quarantine under the government management. The quarantine arrangement will also be available in Sylhet under the government initiative.''
