Passengers Stage Protest Blocking Airport Road

Being failed to manage a seat in public transports, a group of office-going passengers have blocked Airport road in Khilkhet area protesting the government decision on reducing number of passengers on buses and 60 percent hike of bus fare.

The passengers blocked the road around 10am creating long tailback of vehicles on the road, Liton Motin, inspector (patrol) of Banani Police Station said to media.

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Tuesday directed the bus owners to carry 50 percent passengers of their capacity and to follow necessary health safety guidelines from Wednesday, amid the rising trend of coronavirus infection.
